If you take away any and all restrictions and ask Anurag Kashyap to remake Gangs of Wasseypur, this is what you’d get. This show follows a lot of the same beats as Wasseypur but it holds its own. Maybe I’m saying this because I love old school detective stories but this show is pretty good. And not just according to Indian TV show standards. It’s a pretty decent Netflix show. It’s not great, but it has the potential to be because the story isn’t over yet.  So without spoiling too much here’s a bunch of stuff I liked – The…

The movie really is just fine. People should have known from the start that this wouldn’t be a completely honest account of Sanjay Dutt’s life. This is because Raju Hirani has always been extremely close to Sanjay Dutt. His bias towards the actor is what we start to see near the end of the film.  I didn’t love it or hate it but I did enjoy it. What Worked What I liked most was that he was shown to be an irresponsible idiot in the early years of his life. It was fun to watch him stumble around and do…

I had made a video about this but you’ll never see it because Salman Khan is a vengeful man. I can’t say I’m surprised. Should’ve known he doesn’t know what fair use is in copyright law. He barely can grasp the concept of regular laws. So here are 3 Reasons Why Race 3 Hurts.  I don’t know what I expected. I really don’t. I knew this was going to be bad but I didn’t think the movie would make me feel like someone is repeatedly yelling “YOU’RE STUPID!”  In my ear.  Instead of doing a traditional review, I’ll just talk…

You can watch a video for the same here. And you can listen to a podcast of the review here. Veere Di Wedding. I’m not really sure if I have much to say about this movie because I watched it last night and I’m already forgetting things about it. This is a movie about Kareena Kapoor getting married, and her friends are there. That’s pretty much it. So Sumeet Vyas asks Kareena Kapoor to marry him and she’s like okay cool but not really. And then her friends decide to show up to help her get through the wedding. Sonam…

I think all five-star establishments work on a basic level of understanding between the service providers and the consumers, that the service provider will provide unmatched service/ experience, and the consumer will shell out some incredible amount of cash. Pershawri, unfortunately disappointing.  Peshawri was highly disappointing, almost in every aspect of the so-called ‘fine dining’ experience. We are a member of the ITC Club Culinaire, so we often visit Sonar for family dinners. More often than not, we end up eating at Dum Pukht, which would have deserved a solid 4/5 if it was not claustrophobic. This time, we decided to try…

After two weeks of being told how great this movie is, I finally watched it last night and I have a lot to say about it. But before I get into that, I just want to say that Black Panther is by no means a bad movie. I’m not saying that the people who love this movie are wrong, I’m just not one of them because I really didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

So Netflix has been getting a lot of shit for the movies they have produced lately. Bright was underwhelming and The Cloverfield Paradox was a complete mess. Did Love Per Square Foot break the curse that every Netflix production seems to be plagued with? Not really. No. This movie is written and directed by Anand Tiwari and stars Vicky Kaushal and Angira Dhar. It’s about two people who are looking for a house of their own in Mumbai for their own separate reasons. They decide to fake being in a marriage in order to enter a lottery, the prize of…

Padmaavat is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s third historical adaptation. It stars Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditi Rao Hydari and Jim Sarbh. Pros This movie is really about the rivalry between Sultan Alauddin Khilji and Maharawal Ratan Singh. These roles are respectively played by Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor and their performances are what makes this movie worth watching. It was fun to watch these two polar opposites go head to head. One is a ruthless brute and the other is a king who never lets go of his principles. You could tell by his performance that Ranveer Singh enjoyed…

Kaalakaandi is written by the people who made Delhi Belly. If you have seen that movie and didn’t like it then you won’t like this one. This movie is about a bunch of people stuck in different situations and it all takes place in one night. It’s basically a series of random events that are sort of connected but also not really. Saif Ali Khan’s character has just been diagnosed with stomach cancer so he decides to make an impromptu bucket list and starts checking things off it. Vijay Raaz and Deepak Dobriyal play couriers for a criminal and are…
